First weightlifting shoe I've ever used and am ecstatic with the results. Great for oly lifting clean/****, snatches, overhead squat felt instantly better with them and have already been complimented on them. Build quality is superb, sizing is on point, about 30+ days with them so far. Going to compete with these, good reccomendation from my favorite fitness Influenza, the *** chest greek god, fan destroyer and all around swoll natty god Omar Isuf.
Love the feel and look of these shoes. The red suede is sick looking. My old shoes were .75" Do-Wins. The feel of these are so much more stable. They are true to size. If you are coming from Chuck Taylor you might consider going up a half size. Only thing is they could be slightly wider in the toe box. Mine have started to break in a bit and become noticeable but if you have wide feet I don't think these would work well for you.
Spent two weeks with the R1s and I love everything about them. Solid build, solid stance with great grip on the soles and the wide toe box is perfect. Not to mention the compliments for such a unique shoe.
I’ve been in my R1’s for just over 2 weeks. I absolutely love them. First up, these things are so incredibly good looking. Fit and finish are top notch. No broken seams or stitches. High quality suede material. Super pretty to look at. Next up, functionality. They make you feel glued to the floor. Heel height is perfect for my squat style. Zero compression of the sole. They are a dream to squat in. They breathe remarkably well for suede material. Tongue and forefoot strap are beefy. Built to last for sure. Toe box is perfect. My only gripe is that I’d like to see a more aggressive pattern to the base. It holds the floor fine, but I worry about the pattern holding up 3 years from now when I’m still squatting in these beasts. Also, I’m sad that if something happened to these, I wouldn’t be able to replace this color way! So much better than any commercially made powerlifting/weightlifting shoe I’ve ever had. 10/10 would buy again.
I purchased these shoes to replace an old pair of reebok u-form lifters. The stability of these shoes is amazing. I figured a lifting shoe is a lifting shoe. I was wrong. I have some ankle mobility issues doe to some surgical hardware. The height of the heel is allows me to squat to depth with no issues. The final plus to these shoes is they are very well constructed and look fantastic. My primary use of these shoes is powerlifting.
