I purchased these shoes to replace an old pair of reebok u-form lifters. The stability of these shoes is amazing. I figured a lifting shoe is a lifting shoe. I was wrong. I have some ankle mobility issues doe to some surgical hardware. The height of the heel is allows me to squat to depth with no issues. The final plus to these shoes is they are very well constructed and look fantastic. My primary use of these shoes is powerlifting.
I ordered this shoe because it was recommended at a Lifting workshop. However the new R1, even though it said it had a wider toe bed, it was too narrow and hurt my feet so I had to return the shoes. Also I had to pay for that return even though it was not my fault for the return. Very disappointing.
Now I understand correlation doesn’t equal causation, however every session I’ve lifted in these shoes I’ve hit 3, 5, and 8 rep PRs in my low bar and safety squat bar squat for 3 weeks in a row. They feel incredibly stable and will not slide at all. 10/10
Competing in the USPA Masters 40+ HW 125kg class, this is the small boost I needed to get better depth in my squat. I have no cartilage in my right knee which makes mobility an issue. The stability is a stark contrast from when I did all this in Chucks. With the aid of my Greyskulls, I have the power!
As Battle Cat and I were racing toward Eternia, I couldn't help but notice that the wide toe box provided enchanting comfort for my princely feet. Unlike the cursed garments produced by Skeletor and his minions. Man-At-Arms and Beast Man couldn't help but be jealous as I stopped to flex in front of Teela. To sum it up, the Grayskull has made me feel like a real He-Man.
