"Why the 1" effective heel height?"
This question comes up more frequently than you might think.
In this video, you'll notice that the demonstrator struggles to keep his heels flat while maintaining a posture in the overhead squat position while barefoot.
By elevating his heels with that custom wooden wedge, he's not only able to get into the over head squat position faster, and more safely, but he's able to keep his chest higher, thus allowing him to be in a more stable, and desirable position.
If you struggle with mobility, having a higher heel position can be a big help.
